Turkey Time!

Thanksgiving, most of get excited about this holiday for one reason, the food. I am not gonna lie this is my favorite thing about Thanksgiving. The turkey, potatoes, gravy, stuffing, sweet potatoes, rolls, I mean you get the picture. The food is probably the biggest part of this holiday. In reality, many of us forget the actual meaning of the holiday.

On Plymouth  Plantation in 1621 the Americans and the Natives came together to celebrate a plentiful harvest. This is how this holiday came to be. Since that time things have obviously changed. Thanksgiving is a holiday to express thankfulness, gratitude, and appreciation to God, family and friends for which all have been blessed of material possessions and relationships.

To get back to our roots, this year when your sitting around at Thanksgiving time and your spending time with your family, just remember what this holiday means. So, when you and your family are gathering around the table and you are about to dig in and enjoy your meal, just take a few minutes and go around the table and have everyone just say one thing that they are thankful for. Once your done just sit down and dig in to your scrumptious meal but remember what this holiday is and remember to always be thankful for everything you have no matter how small.
