Joyous Holidays

Holidays come in all shapes and sizes, everything from Valentines Day to Christmas. Now I just want to take a few moments and just go over these major holidays and just enlighten everyone on the basis of these holidays.

Valentines Day
Valentines day is a holiday to celebrate the relationship between intimate companions. It is traditionally a day that lovers celebrate their love for each other, by giving flowers and sending greeting cards commonly referred to as Valentines. Modern Valentines day is represented by hearts, doves and the figure of the winged cupid.

Easter 
 Easter is a christian based holiday, that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter also refers to the season of the church year called Easter tide or the Easter Season.. Easter marks the end of Lent and the beginning of the Easter Season. Easter now a days is represented by the Easter Bunny.

Independence Day
Independence Day more commonly known as the 4th of July is an a day in which the United States celebrates its independence from Great Britain. To celebrate this holiday Americans commonly grill and then when dusk hits we celebrate by setting off and watching fireworks.

Halloween
Common Halloween activities include trick or treating, wearing costumes and attending costume parties, carving jack-o-lantern, ghost tours, bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, committing pranks, telling ghost stories or other frightening tales, and watching horror films.

Thanksgiving Day
This holiday started back in the early days, when the Native Americans and Pilgrims had a big feast to give thanks.  Still today, families all over the US get together to have a big feast, on every fourth Thursday of November.  This feast, traditionally, includes mashed potatoes, yams, yeast, bread rolls, gravy, ham, potato salad, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and most importantly, TURKEY.

Christmas
The happiest and joyful holiday of the year.  Every 25th of December, families get together to bond, feast and exchange gifts.  Christmas is the biggest economic booster holiday in the US.  Families spend hundreds of dollars for gifts, food, decoration, electricity cost for that decoration and traveling expense's to see family.
